If the sore spots are visible on the skin, then the doctor will confirm that a person is infected by the Herpes Virus. If the doctor is uncertain about the infection or the sore spots are not visible on the skin, the herpes is tested by the HSV Blood test. The HSV blood test will analyse the blood of the infected person for the presence of HSV antibodies produced in the blood in response to HSV virus.
There is one more test to diagnose the HSV - Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test. PCR test will analyse the DNA in the blood of the infected person and look for the HSV virus.
